From Rugby League Week:

Warrington prop Paul Wood played the second half of the Super League grand final against Leeds with a ruptured testicle. He even conducted post-match interviews before going to hospital where it was later removed.
He jokingly tweeted after the operation: "Tony Smith [Warrington coach] did say in his pre-match team talk last night 'Your balls are on the line here guys!' I didn't think he meant literally." The ultimate sacrifice for the team! Haven't heard of that down here in the southern hemisphere?
Leeds won the match 26-18.
