Expatriate New Zealander Max Barrett, who lost his cool over an Australian TV ad poking fun at the Kiwi accent, has admitted charges of common assault and using offensive language.
Barrett also pleaded guilty to misusing a telecommunications service when he appeared in Griffith Local Court on Wednesday, a court spokeswoman told NZ Newswire.
No pleas were entered on other charges he faces - intimidation, resisting arrest and intimidating police - and his case was adjourned to August 29.
Barrett, 44, took umbrage at a furniture retailer's ad on the WIN regional television network featuring two animated kookaburras saying "Yeah, bro", "Sweet as, bro" and "Choice, bro" with New Zealand accents.
What a silly bugger he turned out to be!
